Publikacije i istraživanja u vezi kurkume

Poznato je da zbog antiupalnih svojstva, kurkuma je prirodan tretman za artritis i reumatoidni artritis. Kliničke studije su takođe pokazale da kurkumin može ublažiti bolove u zglobovima, koji se javljaju kao simptomi reumatskog artritisa. Kurkumin i u ovom slučaju pokazuje efektivno delovanje na smanjenje jutarnje ukočenosti, povećanje sposobnosti dužeg hodanja i smanjenja oteklina oko zglobova.

Glaven komponente kurkuminoida su:
– kurkumin (70-75%)
– demetoksikurkumin (15-20%)
– bisdimetoksinkurkumin ( oko 3%)

Prema nekim istraživanjima, kurkumin može imati antikancerogenu, antivirusnu, i hipoholesterimičnu aktivnost, a postoje i istraživanja koja ukazuju na pozitivno dejstvo kurkumina na dijabetes melitus, kardiovaskularna i neurološka oboljenja, multiplu sklerozu, Alchajmerov bolest i reumatizam. 

Medicinska istraživanja posvećuju mnogo ozbiljniju pažnju, do današnjih dana bar 100 istraživanja su uradili i rade još uvek kako bi što bolje otkrili efekat kurkume. Klinički rezultati su obećavajući ali mora se znati da su naučna saopštenja uvek oprezna, rezultate potcenjuju.
